Tea has been a cultural catalyst throughout history. Teatime not only brought people together, but conversations over tea sparked changes in society. These conversations fueled revolutions and even women’s suffrage. Moments shared over a cup of tea brought about a better future, and it's our mission at Stash to continue this rebellious legacy of tea through supporting our communities.
Among other efforts this year, we’re partaking in another year of Giving Tuesday. If you’re not familiar with Giving Tuesday, it is a generosity movement where people around the globe come together to give back through donating money, goods, or giving support and advocacy. We’re proud to be part of this community effort, especially during a year that has hit the USA particularly hard.
Partake in Giving Tuesday with Us
As a B Corp, we’ve dedicated ourselves to empowering the rebels and rulers of tomorrow by ensuring that they have equal opportunities to succeed. In order to support the strong minds of the future, we’ve teamed up with Feeding America to provide food for those in need during these unexpected times. With schools partially shut down and unemployment increasing, we know that some of the most basic needs of these future leaders are not being met.
For that reason, we’ve decided to donate 10% of all online sales on this Giving Tuesday to Feeding America. Thanks to the continued support of our Stash fans, we donated over 17,000 meals through Feeding America to those in need.
In this time of uncertainty, Feeding America, along with its network of local leaders, works to ensure that this pandemic does not perpetuate inequity or deepen the burdens often borne disproportionately by communities of color and low-income people.
As stated on their website, Feeding America is the largest charitable food assistance network working with 200 food banks and 60,000 food partners across the United States. Food bankers, volunteers, and food pantries are on the front lines to bring food where it is needed most. Since the start of the pandemic, Feeding America’s network has distributed an estimated 4.2 billion meals to our neighbors.
We know that by donating to this nationwide non-profit, they will distribute the proceeds to those who need it most. But we also want to serve our local community here in the Pacific Northwest. In an effort to locally assist those in need, we’ll be donating over 20,000 cups of tea to the Oregon Food Bank. We hope a warm cuppa will bring joy and inspiration to those who need it this holiday season.
